MISSISSIPPI BOULEVARD CHRISTIAN CHURCH

Dear Fellow Servant,

As promised in my last communication to you, this week I want you to take a quick survey about the N3 Conference.  Click here to complete the survey.  Also in closing out the N3 Conference I want to congratulate the teams that won our Ministry/Bible Study Challenge held during the conference.

In 1st place with the highest number of participants: The Protectors

In 2nd place: Christian Endeavors 1

In 3rd place: The Pursuers

I am told that on one night our winning team had 100% participation.

Thank you to every ministry, Bible Study group and individual for your participation and attendance during the conference.  Many of you have asked about how you can receive a copy of the N3 Conference CDs and DVDs.  The complete set will be available after worship this Sunday for purchase.  Don’t wait.  Get yours this week.

Sunday, we kicked off our new Baggage Check Sermon Series that runs through Sunday, October 3.  I hope you embrace that you are the hope of THE BLVD and that your gifts are to be exercised in the community so that the community does not suffer.  You cannot be hidden in the baggage.  Come again this Sunday and learn how to release your baggage voluntarily so that God can make the best use of your gifts.  Just like in the skit from Sunday, God is taking us somewhere BLVD, and in order to go there we have got to let go of some of the baggage!  Check your baggage this Sunday at either THE BLVD East (8:30AM), or at THE BLVD Midtown (10:00 AM).  For those of you who do not reside in Memphis, don’t let the distance stop you from tuning in.  We have Live Streaming every Sunday morning at 10:00 AM on our website: www.theblvd.org

Save this date in your planner, PDA, etc.: Sunday September 26. This is the day that I will be signing copies of my new book Preaching with Sacred Fire at THE BLVD Midtown in the bookstore at 1:00PM.  I am very excited about this book and I hope you come.  I will share a few excerpts, answer questions and autograph your copies for you.

Finally, today I want to close out with an invitation to you.  Every year I try and participate in the Tear Down the Walls event comprised of people from all different walks of life and beliefs.  I want to extend the invitation to all of you.  Please go and represent the love of Christ from THE BLVD.  This year’s theme is One Memphis, One Love! Tear Down the Walls is Thursday, September 16 at the Levitt Shell in Overton Park at 6PM.  For all of the details PLUS some free music downloads from last year’s event and information on the wonderful Memphis area social action organizations please go to: www.teardownthewalls.org/TDTWMemphis.html

God bless you.  I love you and I hope to see you Sunday!
