Dear Family
Member:
With a tremendous sense of shock and
awe, I heard and felt the announcement that Barack Obama was
“projected” to be the President of the United States of
America. I thought that I
could get ready for that news, but I really could not. It is
still taking time to sink in. I have not comprehended it yet.
It had to be God. It could only be God because none of us
could have planned this or even dreamed this in our lifetime.
It could only be God’s time. I am grateful to God for this new
reality that we have walked into. I am thankful to so many
that did so much to make it all possible. God had hands and
feet to get this done. And even as I am thankful for all that
has been done, I look forward and see that there is so much to
do. I look forward to working to
make America an even
greater nation. I am thinking of the sacrifices that we will
all have to make. We have been asked to sacrifice virtually
nothing in a very long time. I am looking forward to giving
myself to a vision of our nation that is greater than our
material possessions and sacrificing to make that reality
real. Please pray for our President-Elect, our nation, and
that God would grant us the grace to be willing to
sacrifice.
DECISION 2008: IN
______ WE TRUST
Are you
ready to experience what God can do for you and your finances?
It is my prayer that this sermon series, “Decision 2008: In ___
(you
fill in the blank) We Trust”, will
help you make a very important decision in 2008 to choose to
live by God’s
economy rather than the world’s economy
as you navigate and survive through
this devastating economic maze. I believe if you decide
to live by God’s
economy principles (pay God 10%
in tithes, pay yourself 10% for saving and investing and live
off the remaining 80%), your life will be truly
transformed.
Join us and bring a friend this Sunday
at 10:00AM as we continue our “Decision 2008: In ___ We
Trust” series, and
celebrate our 87th
Founders’ Day - A Covenant of
Love. You may

history.

MBCC CHO
DIABETES SEMINAR
Do you or anyone in your family have diabetes? Do
you know anyone with diabetes? African Americans are twice as
likely as whites of similar ages to develop diabetes, so
chances are you answered “yes” to these questions. In
fact, 3.7 million or 14.7% of all non-Hispanic Blacks ages 20
and older have diagnosed and undiagnosed diabetes. Diabetes,
also called “Sugar” is a disease in which blood sugar levels
are too high. Over time, having too much sugar in the blood
can lead to serious complications and premature
death. But, people with diabetes can take steps to
control the disease and lower the risk of complications.
(Resources: National Diabetes Education Program and
National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney
Diseases)
Please join the CHO in the Fellowship Hall for a
Diabetes Seminar on Saturday, November 15th, 9AM –
12PM. It will make a difference in your life. You will
receive lots of information and freebies while you learn all
about diabetes. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Mohammad
Qureshi, MD, a board certified Endocrinologist and diabetes
researcher. Plus, a Diabetes Educator will share her personal
experiences living with diabetes, a Diabetes Nutritionist will
discuss ways to make wise food choices and a team will be on
hand to perform sugar testing and provide information on
obtaining medications and testing supplies. Please
complete the registration form and leave it in the CIC or
register in person in the Bellevue or CIC lobby
areas. The deadline for registration is Monday, November
10th. Don’t miss this valuable health educational
program!

HELPING
HANDS AND HEARTS
Thank you to everyone who came out and
participated in our Helping Hands and Hearts Ministry
on Saturday. We were able to serve thirty-seven (37) families
by cleaning their homes and working in their yards; we were
blessed by serving them. Our volunteers consisted of MBCC
members and community volunteers, what a blessing it was to
have other church(s) and community group(s) to come out and be
a part of our ministry outreach – servants together in God’s
vineyard. Click here to view some of our
photos. If you missed this servant
treat, stay tuned for our future outreach projects and (click here to see feedback from some of our
