CARE AND PRAYER

MEDIA
MISSISSIPPI BOULEVARD CHRISTIAN CHURCH

Dear Fellow Servant,

Man is born broken. He lives by mending. The grace of God is glue. (Eugene Gladstone O’Neill)

Today I want to start by saying our hearts and prayers are with everyone who suffered loss during the recent floods and tornados that hit the Mid-South. And even though the water is now receding the devastation is far from over. It is indeed my prayer that God’s grace will cover everyone and that we as givers will be generous and prayerful for physical and mental recovery.

The weather also had an effect on our attendance this past Sunday. Pastor Janae Pitts-Murdock preached “Find the Extra in Ordinary” and did an amazing job. If you missed Sunday, don’t miss the opportunity to purchase your own copy of this wonderful sermon from our Media Ministry this week. As is customary, when attendance is low, the tithes and offerings are extremely low. I encourage you to bring your tithes and offerings to the storehouse this week. You may also click here to give your tithes and offerings online, I cannot stress enough how we depend on your generous gifts each week to carry out ministry work and take care of general expenses. Also while I am on the weather and attendance I want to inform you that the Chat and Chew that was scheduled for last Sunday at THE BLVD East was postponed due to weather until the first Sunday in June.

This Sunday is Mother’s Day. Happy Mother’s Day in advance to all of the mothers, grandmothers, mothers-to-be, and women who have taken on motherly roles in the lives of others. At both of our locations this Sunday there are special treats planned for all mothers. We start our new sermon series Life in the Key of G with Grace this Sunday. How befitting to tie in grace with Mother’s Day.

As always, I remind you to keep communicating with me on the Facebook fanpage at: www.facebook.com/THEBLVD1. Our goal is 1000 friends/fans by July. We are less than 150 people away so if you have not joined please take a minute and become a fan/friend. Keep listening to 15 Minutes of Faith Wednesdays at 6:00pm on 95.7 Hallelujah FM. If you miss it, you can hear the replay weekly. Keep coming to Mid-Week Worship on Wednesdays. This week, we break from our Mid-week worship service for the Mwangaza Children’s Choir of Uganda. View the video of the choir here. These children have traveled the world and will stop in Memphis at THE BLVD Midtown Wednesday, May 12 at 7pm on their tour of the United States. It is a treat the entire family can enjoy so please bring the children! Doors open at 6pm. On Wednesday, May 19 we return to our Mid-Week Worship and the continuation of the What To Do When You Don’t Know What To Do series with Pastor Reggie Bell. Join us in the sanctuary and online with Live Streaming. Our Live Streaming is available weekly at 10am on Sundays and 7pm Wednesdays. And finally, keep praying for healing for everyone who suffered loss in the recent storms.

See you this weekend! And bring a friend or two to worship with you!
