MISSISSIPPI BOULEVARD CHRISTIAN CHURCH

Dear Fellow Servant,

The Memphis area is experiencing chilly weather and there’s more to come.  Please take care in this season and if you have elderly parents, neighbors, etc., check on them and make sure they are doing okay.

This Sunday, we start our new series, “God’s Game Plan.”  This series is about Listening to the Coach and knowing Who is the coach in your life.  Come prepared to evaluate your position in God’s Game Plan.

We have a new radio broadcast on Wednesday evenings on 95.7 FM from 6:00 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. starting January 13, 2010.  Our last WLOK broadcast will be on January 10, 2010. We are very thankful for having been a part of their programming for so many years. Let your family and friends know about our new broadcast.

Thank you for your responses to our Christmas Concert and Family Life Center surveys.  Your comments help us shape future events.

We will not have Wednesday evening service until Jan 20, 2010.  Come prepared for our new mid-week series “Fireproof Your Life: Building a Faith that Survives the Flames”.  If you have ever been burned by the fires you’ve experienced in your life, be here each Wednesday night to learn how to fireproof your life.  You don’t have to be a casualty.  We’ll journey through the book “Fireproof Your Life” by Michael Catt.

I will always have your financial life in mind, so now that the holidays are over, you may be contemplating your strategy for paying off debts and increasing your nest egg (savings).  If you followed our Advent Conspiracy and “spent less” you may be ahead of the game as it relates to debt.  But, if you have debt to pay, gather your bills and put a plan in motion; first, by not incurring any new debt and secondly by establishing a spending plan which includes debt repayment.  If you are not worried about debt and need to build your savings, one of the best ways to do that is to have money automatically deducted from your paycheck and place it into a high interest savings account.  Since interest rates vary from bank to bank, shop around to find the best place to rest your savings.

Be safe!  See you Sunday.

ENTER THE STORY IN 2010

THE BLVD Family is invited to “Enter the Story” by answering these questions: “How would you change the world if only you could?” “How do you plan to make a difference in 2010?” “How will you encourage yourself to reach beyond The Story?” “How will you make the Advent Conspiracy a lifestyle change instead of a seasonal event? Answer these questions, in a letter to yourself explaining your  plan to “Enter the Story” in 2010, bring the letter to church in a self addressed envelope stamped with a “Forever” postage stamp and place it in basket at the end of service. Your letter will be mailed to you in 2010 for self evaluation. Join us as we make a difference, give the Gift of Hope and “Enter the Story.” For additional information about this project, contact Veda Bankhead.
