MISSISSIPPI BOULEVARD CHRISTIAN CHURCH

Greetings My Fellow Servant,

This is Church Moderator, Brenda Greene. I am writing Pastor Frank’s letter for the next week so that I can tell you about a big celebration we are planning for him in honor of his 30th Ordination Anniversary, Sunday, February 13. We are planning great things at both campuses to honor this great man of God and we really want you to be a part of the celebration. THE BLVD East is hosting an early morning breakfast at 7:45AM followed by a powerful 8:30AM worship service with guest preacher, the Reverend Dr. Charles Booth, senior pastor at Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Columbus Ohio and our musical guest is Memphis’ own, Vincent Tharpe and Kenosis. Following the East campus worship service, we head to THE BLVD Midtown for our 10:00AM worship service where the Reverend Dr. Charles Booth will bring the Word again and our special musical guest is Stellar Award winner, Beverly Crawford. During the services (at both locations) we are making a special presentation to Pastor Frank from THE BLVD family. Everyone knows that Pastor Frank is an avid reader. We want you to bring cards and notes expressing your personal appreciation for him that he can refer to for days, weeks and months to come. There is also a special reception planned for him following the 10:00AM service in the Fellowship Hall. Your presence will surely bless him. Please make plans to be at THE BLVD on February 13.

We are also very excited about an important trip we are planning in support of Pastor Frank in June.  It is a very high honor to be invited to speak at the Annual Hampton University Minister’s Conference. The conference is in its 97th year and boasts such great orators as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Rev. Jessie Jackson and even President Barack Obama. Our own, Dr. Frank Anthony Thomas will be added to that list in June and we want as many of you as are able to be there when he makes his mark. Check the eNews below for the details including Early Bird Specials that come with free transportation to the conference for the first 40 people to pay the $175 registration fee beginning February 13. If you would like to know more about the conference you may visit the website by clicking here.

I have one last heads up for this Sunday also known as Superbowl Sunday. Wear your favorite NFL team jersey to church as Pastor Frank closes out the Champion: Winner Within Sermon Series. Always remember, it doesn’t matter what team jersey you sport. If Christ is calling the plays in your life - YOU WIN!

See you Sunday!

Brenda Greene
