MISSISSIPPI BOULEVARD CHRISTIAN CHURCH

Dear Fellow Servant,

There will be no BLVD East worship service on Sunday. THE BLVD Midtown and THE BLVD East are coming together for one worship service and just in case you have not heard, our guest preacher for our 88^th Anniversary and Founders Day Celebration is none other than gospel music great, Tye Tribbett. Worship begins at 10:00 a.m. For those of you who have not been to the Midtown campus, we are located at 70 North Bellevue at the corner of Bellevue and Jefferson. THE BLVD has stood strong on the Promise of Jesus for 88 Years and We Are Still Standing! Our musical guest for the day is a man who has written some of gospel music’s greatest hits including a song that has been labeled as today’s church anthem, I Need You To Survive. He is lyrical genius, David Frazier.

This is also a reminder that Daylight Savings Time ends this weekend. That’s right you will have an extra hour to get to church Sunday which means you should be here early! If you turn your clocks back an hour before bed Saturday night, you will wake ready for worship Sunday because our One Worship Sunday promises to be one that will be filled with joy, celebration, information and good news.

Speaking of good news, you may say it’s early to start making plans for Christmas, however our Annual Holidays at THE BLVD Christmas concert is a little over a month away. This is our time to come together as a family of believers and celebrate the joy of the season. It is our opportunity to support our music ministry who by the way puts so much work into making this a special event. It’s our chance to give back to an organization in our community (Hope House Daycare) that does so much for innocent children who cannot do for themselves. And it is a time to enjoy the sounds of award-winning gospel recording artist, Donnie McClurkin. Don’t let time work against you. Get your tickets Sunday and plan to be at THE BLVD for this wonderful evening we have themed The Gift of Hope. THE BLVD Prayer Ministries would like to partner with you in prayer. You may share you prayer request with us by placing them in the Prayer Box in the Montgomery lobby outside the Chalice Bookstore. CARE GROUP MINISTRY SESSIONS

The Care Group ministry is offering eight Grief Care sessions for members who are bereaved, and
eight Cancer Care sessions for members who have been diagnosed with cancer or survived the disease. Christian facilitators and friends will be on hand to provide encouragement and support for both groups. The schedules are as follows:

Grief Care - Grief Care meets Tuesdays from 6:00PM – 8:00PM, beginning October 27^th
Cancer Care - Cancer Care meets Wednesdays from 5:30PM – 6:50PM, beginning October 28^th

Additional information is available following Sunday worship at the Grief Care/Cancer Care table located in the Montgomery lobby.

NEWS AND EVENTS |

FOUNDER’S DAY: 88 YEARS AND STILL STANDING

THE BLVD East and THE BLVD Midtown will join together at our Midtown location, 70 N. Bellevue Blvd. on Sunday, November 1^st, for one worship service in celebration of our 88^th Founder’s Day. Worship service begins at 10:00AM. Service at THE BLVD East will resume on Sunday, November 8^th.

AARP DRIVER SAFETY CLASS

AARP is providing a two–day Driver Safety class at THE BLVD for persons 55 years and older on Thursday, November 19^th and Friday, November 20^th, 8:30AM – 12:30PM each day. This class qualifies you for a discount on your automobile insurance for the next three years. MEN’S MINISTRY ANGEL TREE PROJECT

THE BLVD Men’s Ministry is asking all BLVD men to donate twenty-five dollars to the Angel Tree project, which helps provide Christmas gifts for children with one or both parents incarcerated. Stop by the Men’s Ministry table in the Montgomery lobby following Sunday worship to get additional information and make a donation.

WOMEN’S MINISTRY DOVE TREE PROJECT

THE BLVD Chosen Vessels Women’s Ministry is supporting this year’s Dove Tree Christmas Outreach project. Dove Tree provides Christmas gifts for children and families of Hope House Daycare, a center for children affected by HIV/AIDS. Doves may be adopted beginning Sunday, November 8^th from the Dove Tree located in the CIC. All gifts must be submitted by Sunday, December 6^th. BABY DEDICATION

The next BLVD Midtown Baby Dedication for infants and toddlers up to age 24 months is scheduled for Sunday, November 29^th. The deadline for registration is Sunday, November 15^th. Registration forms are available in the CIC. You may also register online.

MBCC MEDICAL EMERGENCY PLAN

MBCC has an emergency response system for medical emergencies. For medical help, alert the nearest usher immediately. The usher will activate the emergency response system and a licensed health care provider will assist. All 911 calls should be initiated by a member of the Medical Response Team.

ZUMBA

Zumba meets on Tuesday evenings at 6:00PM in the Fellowship Hall. The cost is $4 person session or $12 per month, cash only. Bring a bottle of water and a towel. For additional information, contact Pastor Virzola Law at 901.272.5603.

STEWARDSHIP|

KROGER/SCHNUCKS FUNDING

All BLVD Midtown servants who currently have a Kroger or Schnucks card are asked to continue loading your card in support of the Youth and Children programs at THE BLVD. HALLELUJAH NIGHT CONCERT FEATURING TYE TRIBBETT

In partnership with Pastor Gene Lawson, THE BLVD High School and Young Adult Ministries present Hallelujah Night Gospel Concert featuring Tye Tribbett & Greater Anointing, Saturday, October 31^st at 7:00PM at Christ The Rock, 8800 Winchester Road. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Tickets may be purchased from THE BLVD Bookstore. Free activities for children ages 4 – 8 years start at 6:30PM.

COLLEGE PREPARATION

THE BLVD Midtown Scholarship Committee and college bound students invite all high school juniors and seniors to attend our first 2009-2010 College Preparatory meeting. The meeting is scheduled for Sunday, November 15^th at 8:30AM in the MLK Seminar Room. THE BLVD Scholarship Committee and a recruiting specialist will be on hand to provide vital information. MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL BIBLE STUDY

Bible Study classes for all middle and high school students are in session from 8:30AM – 9:45AM every Sunday. We are currently studying Rites of Passage Curriculums, which is a requirement for all BLVD Midtown middle and high school students. Please attend as we strive to achieve excellence for the whole family.
