Dear
Fellow Servant,
On
Wednesday night we concluded the Bible Study series My Cousin John. It
was on my heart to deliver an uncut study like this to you and
I am overjoyed that you showed up and received it like you
did. Thank you for coming, thank you for the questions, and
thank you for sharing your views openly and honestly. This
Sunday we confront the fifth of the Seven Deadly Sins:
SLOTH. Sloth is defined as spiritual or emotional apathy,
neglecting what God has spoken, and being physically and
emotionally inactive. Tell me that won’t preach! Come out Sunday to either our
8:30AM worship
service at our East
Campus inside Opera Memphis or come to Midtown at 10:00AM. Remember
that the 10:00AM worship is also streamed live at www.theblvd.org for those who
are not able to physically attend.
As
we count down to the close of our current series, I want to
give you a heads up on the great things happening at THE BLVD
beginning in August.
FamiLIES Wednesday nights
in August at 7PM. This study includes a peek into the
lives of our fictitious family, the Davis family. You will see
how they handle conflicts and crisis that occur in real life,
followed by Biblical applications and then a Q&A
session.
The N3 Conference with
special guest preacher, Bishop Rudolph McKissick, Jr.
is at THE BLVD August
30 – Sept 1 nightly. The conference theme is Next Level…New Me…No
Limits! There will be Empowerment sessions and meals
nightly for the low price of $1 per person. Activities begin
at 5:15PM with worship service at 7:00PM.
In
September, we
begin the next Sunday Sermon Series, Baggage Check. You
will hear more about that one in the upcoming
weeks.
I
congratulate Pastor Denise Bell on the two servant volunteer
events this past Saturday initiated by THE BLVD East. At
sunrise a team of servants were in Shelby Farms distributing
THE BLVD branded water bottles. The bottles read: Today we
offer you a temporary thirst quencher. For Living Water meet
us at THE BLVD. I love that! Following the water
giveaway, I joined the volunteers for some physical labor
building a playground in a Germantown park. Thank you to all
of the volunteers for living the servant
mission.
This
Sunday, the Music Ministry at our Midtown location has an
extra special treat for us in the form of a Bishop Walter Hawkins
tribute featuring several special guest soloists including
the original soloist for the hit rendition “Don’t Wait ‘Til
the Battle Is Over; Shout NOW”, Min. Lawanda
Scroggins.
In
closing today, I want to say thank you again for your support
of THE BLVD financially in your tithes and offerings,
spiritually by coming to worship service and evangelically by
telling others about the goodness of Jesus Christ and inviting
them to worship.
God
bless you and I look forward to seeing you this
Sunday!
