Dear Servant:
Happy Thanksgiving. Joyce and I want
to thank you for being a member ofMississippi Boulevard Christian Church. As
the Senior Servant, I am charged to feed this congregation and
I am only able to feed you because you have chosen to worship
at Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church. Therefore, as we
enter into this Holiday Season, let us be thankful for the
many blessings that we have received this year; the many
challenges that we have experienced that eventually make us
stronger; and our church family. If you will be travelling, I
pray for traveling mercies for you. I pray that each family
will look towards the future that God has planned for them and
appreciate the family members that are with them regardless of
family situations, each one has a significant purpose in their
family and in this world.
It is with great sadness and great joy that
I announce to you the home-going of one of my mothers in the
ministry, Dr. Ella
Mitchell. We are familiar with Dr. Henry and Ella Mitchell
because they have been to THE BLVD. many times. Dr. Ella was a
pioneer to us all, but especially to women in ministry around
the country. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday and
Tuesday next week, click here for additional
information.
Please keep Dr. Henry Mitchell in your
prayers.
Ultimately, we grieve with the hope of
Christ in our lives. First, God has overcome death in the
resurrection of Christ and second, I love the text in John
11:26 where Jesus says, “everyone who lives in me and believes
in me shall never die.” Dr. Ella believed and lived in
Christ.
“DECISION 2008: IN ______ WE
TRUST”
This
Sunday, I will give the last sermon for this series –
“Decision 2008: In ___
(you
fill in the blank)
We Trust”. I hope
you have received a Word that reaffirms your decision to trust
God or that has encouraged you to trust God. When we trust
God, He will help us stand in times of adversities, and
through this economic maze. The best we can do for ourselves
is to rely on God to bring us through all situations that
arise in our lives. God is forever faithful to us especially
when we are faithful to him, so remember to live by God’s economy rather
than the world’s
economy. I believe if you decide to live by God’s economy
principles (pay God 10% in
tithes, pay yourself 10% for saving and investing, and live
off the remaining 80%), you will see God’s hands in
your life when you need Him the most. Remember God is always
on time.
NO WEDNESDAY NIGHT
WORSHIP
There is no Wednesday
Night Worship Service this week November 26th.
See you next week at our Wednesday Night Worship, December
3rd, at 7:00PM in the MLK Seminar Room as we
continue our sermon series entitled, "The Family that
Preys Prays Together" through various scenes
from Tyler Perry's movie, "The Family that Preys". We will
discover life-giving principles for healthy family and
extended family relationships that will safeguard us against
relationship disaster and catastrophe in this season. The
final months of the year can be the most rewarding for our
relationships if we exercise Kingdom principles offered in
Wednesday Night Worship series.
December 10, 2008, Wednesday
Night Worship will be our Annual Grief and Healing
Service in the Chapel at 7:00PM. If you or someone
you know has lost a loved one, I encourage you to attend this

future.
