MISSISSIPPI BOULEVARD CHRISTIAN CHURCH

Dear Fellow Servant,

This week is going by fast. Summer is almost over. We are gearing up for a new season with plenty of exciting sermon series and new events. I have been reading your comments on Facebook about the current series, Seven Deadly Sins and about the Wednesday night study, My Cousin John. I really appreciate your support, questions and comments. Please keep them coming. This Sunday we are taking on GLUTTONY. I know so many of you think that this one is an opportunity for “Pastor Frank” to really hit hard on health. Well, don’t count on it just yet. Come and see what the Lord has given to me for this sermon. You may be surprised. Join us live in the sanctuary at THE BLVD East (8:30am) or THE BLVD Midtown (10am). You can also view Live Streaming online at www.theblvd.org.

Before I forget, this past Sunday I told you that I would make the testimonial video shown in worship this week available on eNews. Unfortunately we have experienced a few technical glitches with the video causing us not to be able to share it at this time. I appreciate your understanding.

I rarely have speaking engagements in the city. This week, however, is an exception. I am preaching a revival at Community of Faith Christian Church this Thursday (July 22) and Friday (July 23). I am inviting all members of THE BLVD to join me nightly at 7pm. The church is located at 751 North Trezevant Street in Memphis, TN 38112. I would love to see a few familiar faces in the audience from THE BLVD.

Also, I want to take just a minute and share with you a personal victory that I am celebrating. For the past nine years I have been working on a book that chronicles sermons of African American preachers dating back to 1790. This book has 100 sermons from noted preachers of the past all the way to today. It is called Preaching With Sacred Fire and I am thrilled to have been a part of putting it together. It was a long journey but the race is not given to the swift. The release is in August and I will keep you posted on when and where you can secure your copy of this great work.

Did you know that Dr. Rudolph McKissick, Jr. is headed back to THE BLVD this year for another powerful and power-packed worship experience? Let me be the first to tell you that August 30 thru Sept 1, you want to be at THE BLVD Midtown for our N3 Conference. The conference theme is Next Level. New Me. No Limits. We’ve got some amazing things planned to revive and renew your joy! You will hear more about this in the upcoming weeks.

In closing today I want to encourage each of you who can vote to do so. The election is upon us. Andrew Lack once said “Bad officials are elected by good citizens who do not vote”. I cannot endorse a candidate or influence who you choose, but I can encourage you to make a choice. Early voting ends July 31. You can vote right here at THE BLVD in the Family Life Center during the week between 10am and 7pm. Election day is August 5.

God bless you and I look forward to seeing you this Sunday!
