MISSISSIPPI BOULEVARD CHRISTIAN CHURCH

Dear Fellow Servant,

The excitement of Umoja is in the air at THE BLVD. In the past few weeks I have tried to show through my teaching that Umoja is so much more than a play or musical. It is an opportunity that we as fishers of men cannot miss!  Umoja is allowing us to cast our net in deep water. Today is the last day to purchase tickets for $10. Beginning Friday, April 23, all tickets will be sold for $15. At THE BLVD East last Sunday, I challenged the congregation to bring a guest with them this upcoming Sunday. Thirty people stood up and committed to meet this challenge. I am looking forward to seeing the wonderful result this week. I am praying for overflow at THE BLVD East and at THE BLVD Midtown all day Sunday. In fact, I believe that the overflow will occur all weekend throughout Umoja 2010. How can I believe this?  Because I believe that you get it! You know that it is going to take all of us inviting our friends, family, neighbors, business associates and everyone we know to come. I believe that you are ready to Go Fish!

At THE BLVD Midtown this Sunday, we are going deep for Umoja and wearing traditional African attire. If you have African attire and would like to wear it, please feel free to do so. If you do not or would prefer not dressing in African attire, please feel free to come as you are. We are very conscious of the economy and do not advocate spending money unnecessarily. Having you here is the most important thing.

I took the opportunity to say “hello” to our Facebook fanpage members. I hear you and I appreciate you. Check out the page at www.facebook.com/THEBLVD1. I appreciate all of your comments on everything from the sermon series to 15 Minutes of Faith. If you miss 15 Minutes of Faith, you can hear the replay weekly. Keep communicating with us. The more we hear from you, the more connected we are with you.

Before I sign off this week I do want to say thank you to everyone at both THE BLVD East and THE BLVD Midtown who has participated in our fishing expedition by offering the names of family and friends. We received more than 800 names. Our teams are praying for and contacting every one of them (who submitted contact information). Let’s take our vision and our mission statements and move both to action.

We are THE BLVD. We exist to Reach, Ignite, Serve and Empower. Our vision is to be a servant church that makes 10,000 passionate servants of Christ in every generation who are developing moral character, living a life pleasing to God, and doing the right things in all relationships.

See you this weekend! And Bring Somebody With You.
