Dear
Fellow Servant:
Congratulations
to Pastor Janae and Jeff Murdock II, on the
birth of their first born Jeffrey Allen Murdock
III. Baby Jeffery arrived on Tuesday, June 19
weighting 6lbs 13oz. Both Pastor Janae and
baby Jeffrey are doing fine, so keep them in
your prayers.
If
you have attended any worship services or
classes at Midtown this week, you probably
noticed the painting
project that will include our sanctuary,
vestibule and hallways outside the sanctuary
is on its way Click here to see the
photos. We have placed “Under
Construction” signage throughout the building to
keep us mindful and to make our guests aware of
the project. I realize that this project may
cause some minor inconveniences, but I am asking
for your support. We will be doing everything
possible to ensure that the painting will not
affect our Midtown worship services over the
next few weeks. I am counting on you to attend
either our Midtown or East campus each
week.
During
our painting project, our Midtown Midweek
worship services will be held in the MLK Seminar
Room on the second floor. I appreciate everyone
who came out last night to our midweek service
photos). I am even more thankful
that a number of servants attended this series
to expand their knowledge of How to Make Good
Godly Decisions”. After such a
fabulous three weeks, I know that God will take
things to another level next Wednesday;
we will
discuss how to make “Spiritual Decisions.” You
do not want to miss
it.
Last
evening there were a number of people who left
due to the shortage of seats in the MLK Seminar
Room. We apologize
to everyone for the inconvenience and we want
you to know that we are moving from
“Mediocrity to Greatness for God.” The
Sanctuary will be an even more awesome place in
just a few weeks. Thanks for your
patience.
Pastor
Reggie did it again, I heard. The Holy Spirit
visited and the Word was made plain in last
Sunday’s sermon “Lessons from God’s Love
Letter”. The song highlighted came from our
current generation’s music, Love Letter
by R. Kelly. This week we will explore
another generation’s “Message in
The Music”.
I
am looking forward to seeing you on Sunday. Stay
cool, hydrated and look out for the elderly,
children and pets.
With
A Servant’s Heart,

MONEY
MATTERS
It’s
become an all-too-familiar headline – lay-offs and furloughs,
falling housing prices and rising consumer debt, declining retail
sales and increasing costs of living. Money – and the lack of it –
is a source of stress and frustration. And while people the world
over are working to stem the global financial situation we’re in,
folks at home are trying to gain some control over their own
financial situations, too. The Bible teaches us that “the people
perish because of a lack of knowledge.” Practicing positive, tried
and true money management techniques – and learning how to recognize
and avoid some “ripped from the headlines” consumer scams and
rip-offs – can help you weather tough economic times. Begin today to
educate yourself and your family about financial matters. The
Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation’s consumer protection
agency, created the website (Money Matters) to help you tackle some
money issues head-on. Visit
their website to learn more about managing your money
and various scams designed to separate you from your
money. |
