CARE AND PRAYER

MEDIA
MISSISSIPPI BOULEVARD CHRISTIAN CHURCH

Dear Servant:

With great pride and awesome humility, I watched the inauguration of the 44th president of the United States of America, Barack Hussein Obama. This is a day of celebration and thanksgiving before God. God has been faithful and has allowed us to see what most believed that we would never see, a black President of the United States. I encourage everyone to take time, in your own personal way, to say thank you to God. It can be public or private, but each of us must give God all the praise and all the thanks. This is a day of thanksgiving!

After we say thank you, let us prepare ourselves for the sacrifices that our new leader must inevitably ask of us. The circumstances that our new leader must deal with, i.e. the economy, two wars, etc. inexorably will require different priorities and spending habits of us. I am prepared to do my part. I wait to follow his lead.

UMOJA 2009

THE BLVD is celebrating its tenth year of the production Umoja (Swahili for unity, pronounced “oo-moh–jah”) with a powerful journey while imagining the possibilities. Join me at this Broadway-like production on March 13th at 7:30PM, March 14th at 6:00PM, or Sunday March 15th at 4:00PM. Tickets are on sale in the Bookstore for a limited time at $10.00 each. This production will bring you to laughter, tears and possibly self-examination of where you are today and where you can be tomorrow. Get your ticket today.

CHURCH-WIDE BIBLE STUDY

We have had great attendance at our Church Wide Bible Study classes on Sundays and Wednesdays. We will continue to meet every Sunday at 8:30AM in the Fellowship Hall and Wednesday at 7:00PM in the Sanctuary throughout the month of January. If you have attended these classes, blog me and share your experience; I am waiting to hear from you. Your comments may encourage others to come out and participate in our Bible study. See you Sunday.

CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE

I will continue our sermon series “Change We Can Believe” that is designed to help you with any goals you have (lose weight, save money, eat right, get fit, help others, read the Bible more, quit bad habits, etc.). This series will give insight to allowing God to direct you with any needed CHANGES in your life. I am looking forward to sharing with you again this Sunday on the awesomeness of our God. Click here for more information about our upcoming sermon and Bible study series.

With much thanksgiving to God,

Pastor Frank Thomas
