MISSISSIPPI BOULEVARD
CHRISTIAN CHURCH |

|
Dear Fellow Servant,
I know this is the third message from me to you
this week and based on the activities happening here, I could
have sent another one.
I will try and sum it up in this communication and
contain my excitement.
It’s not easy though when life is happening all around
you. Can you feel
it? Do you see
what God is doing in our lives right now? Here are a few things
that should make the case.
Last Sunday, as you know, we had our official
launch of THE BLVD East.
We saw it by faith and then walked into it. It was standing room
only in the worship center with nearly 500 in attendance. There were familiar
faces of people I see regularly on Sundays. There were faces of
people I have not seen in a while and there were new faces all
connected to hands and hearts of people with one purpose:
worship. It was a
beautiful and blessed day. I want to thank all of
you who have played a part in THE BLVD East launch. Thank you to all of
our “seasoned” servants who kindly gave up seats so that new
and returning servants could sit. Sunday, at both
locations, I will ask the question in my Great Questions of
the Bible series, “Will A Man Rob God?” In the language of
today it may be “What’s In Your Wallet?” Either way, there is
a word from the Lord.
I hope you will come out to hear it and enjoy the
musical styling of international recording artist, Kirk Whalum
who will be with us at THE BLVD Midtown on Sunday.
Last week the Commercial Appeal ran a story about
the event I was privileged to be a part of at the Church
Health Center.
You all know how strongly I feel about healthcare and
the importance of being healthy. The Tri-State Defender
is printing my speech in this week’s issue. I wanted you to have a
copy for yourself. Information is power! If you are concerned
about the state of healthcare in this country, the importance
of having a voice and being informed. Take a little time and
read this message by clicking here.
A few weeks ago, we opened the all new Children and
Youth area after much hard work by some truly committed
servants. I took
the time to thank all of you who donated to the fundraising
effort and now I want to take just a moment more and thank the
people who put their hands to the plough. These dedicated men
gave more than I can say in time, talent and treasure. I know that their
efforts were from the heart. However, I want to
share their names and business information with you. This is not an
advertisement. It
is simply a “Thank You” for believing. If you see them
around, please let them know how much their efforts mean to
Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church and specifically to the
children we nurture within these walls. To see the list please
That is about it for this week. Don’t forget the
picnic is this Saturday (October 3) at De Soto Park located at
351 Metal Museum Drive in Downtown Memphis. If you need
directions, here is a map. The
weather is promising and the food & fun will be too. Come out and enjoy
it!
See you there and Sunday!
