MISSISSIPPI BOULEVARD CHRISTIAN CHURCH

Dear Fellow Servants:

We have a big weekend planned starting Friday at THE BLVD.  Last week I stood with you on the idea of enjoying the annual football game that comes through Memphis.  It is my hope that you will stand with me this weekend as we welcome Alicia Britt Chole to THE BLVD as our special guest speaker during our Church-wide Consecration, Friday, Sept 18th at 6:00PM and Saturday September 19that 8:45AM. Let’s just call this a Weekend of Worship. Sunday’s Great Questions of the Bible Series asks the question, “Whom Shall I Send? And Who Will Go?” from Isaiah 6:8.  Many times the question of whose responsibility is this or that comes up and too often the question falls on silence.  The question provides a great challenge to us as Christians and I can’t wait to share my views with you from the Word.

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to participate in the annual Tear Down the Walls event here in Memphis where pastors and leaders from all walks of faith gather together for one huge event and spread the love of God with one another.  I was proud to represent Christianity, THE BLVD and the African American pulpit.  I believe if we continue to work on tearing down walls, we will get a clearer view of the world and what it takes to not only live in it but make it a better place.

(L to R Craig Strickland, Stacy Spencer, Keith Norman, Roz Nichols, Micah Greenstein, Rick Kirchoff, and myself)

Last Sunday, we had our first full-length worship service run through at THE BLVD East.  Although with anything new there are small challenges to work out, I can tell you that there was something in the atmosphere, just as I have said since the beginning.  Excellence!  The music, the worship, and the center were all filled with presence of the Lord.  This Sunday we are doing it again and the next Sunday (September 27) is launch day.  I hope you have invited others to join us at THE BLVD East.  I would like for each servant at THE BLVD to invite ten of their friends and family to worship with us.  However, if you just evangelize with two or three, it will make a difference in their lives and the life of the ministry.

Your Servant,

DR. FRANK A. THOMAS Senior Servant

PRAYER REQUESTS

THE BLVD Prayer Ministries would like to partner with you to make your requests known unto God: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7. (NIV) Please share your prayer requests with us by placing them in the Prayer Box in the Montgomery Lobby outside of The Chalice Bookstore. Request forms are available above the Prayer Box, in the pews and in Bible Study Classes. You may also submit requests by clicking here.
