Dear
Fellow Servant:
As
we continue on the road from “Mediocrity to
Greatness” in our Sanctuary painting
process, this Sunday you will notice the
large video screens have been removed to allow
the painting to be completed behind, above and
below the screens. The screens will be back up
for our August 28 Sunday worship service. All
seating will be open this Sunday as the
scaffolding will be in the Pulpit only. Photos
are attached on the progress of this
beautification process, thank
you for your continued support.

here to see the photos.
Have
you marked your calendars for our N3
Conference 2011? First, we would like
everyone to come together as our Elders lead us
in our Prayer Vigil on Friday, August 26
from 7:00PM to Midnight. Our conference
preacher, Rev. Dr. John E. Guns, Senior
Pastor of St. Paul’s Missionary Baptist Church,
Jacksonville, Florida will be with us
starting Sunday, August 28 at both
worship services. On Monday through
Wednesday, August 29 through August 31,
we will serve dinner at 5:00PM, Empowerment
Sessions begin at 5:50PM; and worship service at
7:00PM. On Wednesday, August 31,
National Recording Artist VaShawn
Mitchell will be our musical guest. The cost
of dinner is $2.00 per person and registration
is required for both the dinner and empowerment
sessions. We will not be able to sell any dinner
tickets during the Conference, so get yours
today! You may register in the lobbies at both
campuses on Sunday, or Click
here to register on-line now. The N3
Conference team has worked very hard on this
year’s conference to bring the best of the best.
We are looking for volunteers to help make this
conference a success, so please sign up in the
lobbies on Sunday. Also, invite everyone you
know to be a part of this special community
outreach. Remember, we are working on “Win
One in One, One”, and there is no better
time than this to invite someone to experience
THE BLVD and introduce them to Christ. Go get
‘Em.
I
will be preaching on our “FAITHBOOK” series
through September 4. On Sunday, I asked you
to be intentional about not using words such as
“need, have to, I am trying, I don’t have time
to eat healthy, workout, get along with her/him,
etc.” It may take a minute to stop using these
words, but if you are consciously aware of them
and rephrase your sentences, you’ll get there.
Get my tape to hear this sermon in its entirety
and my suggested words. We will continue our
chat on Sunday as we discuss how we post on
Faithbook.
See
you Sunday,

MONEY
MATTERS
It’s
become an all-too-familiar headline – lay-offs and furloughs,
falling housing prices and rising consumer debt, declining retail
sales and increasing costs of living. Money – and the lack of it –
is a source of stress and frustration. And while people the world
over are working to stem the global financial situation we’re in,
folks at home are trying to gain some control over their own
financial situations, too. The Bible teaches us that “the people
perish because of a lack of knowledge.” Practicing positive, tried
and true money management techniques – and learning how to recognize
and avoid some “ripped from the headlines” consumer scams and
rip-offs – can help you weather tough economic times. Begin today to
educate yourself and your family about financial matters. The
Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation’s consumer protection
agency, created the website (Money Matters) to help you tackle some
money issues head-on. Visit
their website to learn more about managing your money
and various scams designed to separate you from your
money. |
