MEDIA
MISSISSIPPI BOULEVARD CHRISTIAN CHURCH

Dear Fellow Servant,

Didn’t we have a blessed time at the Christmas Concert?  At one point I looked around and saw that there were people up in the second balcony and I couldn’t help but smile.  It may have sounded like I was a little nervous but I did not doubt you for a minute!  I knew you would come through.  I am thankful to know the power of prayer and faith and I am blessed to know the warmth of the hearts of the humanity.  Thank you for your support.  Please make sure you take the time to complete our brief online survey before midnight on December 31.  We believe you have something to share and we appreciate your input.  We cannot make things better for you, if you don’t tell us what “better” looks like to you.  Click here to go to our brief survey and let us know what you think.

At the concert, we also paused briefly to show our appreciation for Dr. Leo H. Davis, Jr. and to congratulate him on 20 years of service to the Music Ministry at THE BLVD.  When we put the call out, we had so many responses that we could only air a snapshot of the video at the concert.  Please click here to view the anniversary tribute video in its entirety.

This week, our Advent Conspiracy message is all about love.  I am amazed at your response to our request for stories about how you are making a difference in someone else’s life this season.  Our walls are filling up with your “Enter the Story” moments at THE BLVD Midtown.  I read some and was inspired.  Keep the stories coming.  You never know who will be blessed by yours story.

Sunday at THE BLVD, our special guest soloist is Ms. Sheri Jones-Moffett.  Although she is probably most known as a part of the gospel tag team of Ted and Sheri, she has emerged recently as a solo artist with a single, Renewed, that is climbing the gospel charts and has recently earned her a Grammy nomination.  She sang a little bit of Encourage Yourself with Donnie McClurkin at the concert last Sunday to an “on-your-feet” crowd.  Come out and be blessed by her music ministry.

Next week, the church offices will be closed for the holidays.  We will reopen Monday, December 28th.  If you have an emergency, please contact our Pastor on Call at 901.569.7729.

Please join me for Christmas Eve worship with Hope Presbyterian Thursday, December 24 at 7PM.  Hope is located at 8500 Walnut Grove Road in Cordova.  We will return to THE BLVD for New Years Eve worship in both our Midtown and East Memphis locations at 7PM on December 31.

Be safe everyone and spread love!  See you Sunday.

FUN ACTIVE SPORTS TOGETHER @ THE BLVD

Pastor Frank is an avid believer that the faith journey is prosperity for the soul and good health is prosperity for the body (“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in good health, even as thy soul prospereth” 3 John 2). Many have heard and prospered from Pastor Frank's message; we have lost weight, we feel good, look good and are on fewer medications. There are testimonies all over the church about how exercise and diet has changed lives of whole families. We want to create a ministry that can add to Pastor Frank's teaching through our Family Life Center (FLC). We need your help to develop a family recreational ministry called Fun Active Sports Together (FAST). Please fill out the brief survey connected to this message. Thank you so very much, we can prosper together as a family and live in good health while having a boatload of fun. Please help us by participating in this survey by December 28th. Click here to complete short survey.

MBCC MEDICAL EMERGENCY PLAN

MBCC has an emergency response system for medical emergencies. For medical help, alert the nearest usher immediately. The usher will activate the emergency response system and a licensed health care provider will assist. All 911 calls should be initiated by a member of the Medical Response Team.

SISTERS-IN-MOTION REGGAE MARATHON

On December 3rd, an entourage of 72 people traveled to Jamaica for fun, sun, and running and/or walking in the 9th Annual Reggae Marathon in Negril. The races took place on Saturday, December 5th, beginning at 5:15am, local time.

Of the 72 travelers, 58 competed in AND finished one of two races—the half-marathon (13.1 miles) or the 10K (6.2 miles).  Included in the 58 race participants were 28 MBCC members: Tara Alexander, *LaVerne Bobo, *JoAnn Boyd, Delois Brown, Deloris Burrow, Kimberly Collins, Denise Dickerson, Kimberly Gibson, Edith Kelly-Green, Dee Griffin, Shirley Harris, Diann Kelly, Bridget Lee, *April Thompson-Larsha, *Jacqueline Payne, Mildred Saulsberry, Linda Sessoms, Trudy Tyler, *Valencia Watson, Carvetta Williams and *Tammy Young, all of which completed the half-marathon.  Other runners and/or walkers are: *Veda Bankhead, *Christy Clark, *Monice Hagler, *Marilyn Peete-Hilliard, *Rosalyn Hurt, Angela Grant-Jones and Charles Kelly, all of which completed the 10K. Several participants completed either their first half-marathon or 10K race. They are denoted by an asterisk preceding their names.

Sisters-In-Motion has competed in many races in its 3-year existence, but this trip marks our first international racing venture. There were over 1,000 participants coming from 18 different countries. For many in our group, it was their first international trip and the first time visiting a third world country. They were exposed to the local culture, church service and had a first hand observation of the poverty that exists in many third world countries. From these observations, they all agreed that America is truly blessed and left with a more profound appreciation of our country and all that it offers. Click here to view race photos.

It was a wonderful weekend getaway full of fellowship, fun, sun, good food, beautiful beach, white sand, water activities and relaxation. They are looking forward to their next running/walking adventure, either nationally or internationally.
