MAY 7th : NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER

Many Christians throughout the USA will engage in seven days of prayer starting on May 1st in preparation for the National Day of Prayer on May 7th. With “Hope” as the theme, we will focus as follows: Day 1 – Government, Day 2 – Military, Day 3 – Media, Day 4 – Business, Day 5 – Education, Day 6 – Church and Day 7 – Family. Invite family and friends to be a part of the national prayer focus.

CALLING ALL WOMEN OF THE BLVD!

In support of the 2009 – 2010 Thematic Goal: ...transforming THE BLVD by reclaiming the family one member at a time,” the Women’s Ministry is gearing up for a wonderful year of worship, Bible Study and fellowship with a Ministry Kick-Off Saturday, April 25th from 10:00AM – 12:00PM in the Fellowship Hall. More information is available on Sunday at the sign-up tables in the Bellevue and Montgomery lobbies, in the CIC or online.

OWN A PIECE OF CIVIL RIGHTS HISTORY!

A packaged set of sermons preached by Dr. Joseph Lowery at THE BLVD will be available in the Bellevue lobby and Bookstore lobby following Sunday worship service. CD’s are $20 each and DVD’s are $40 each.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION MINISTRY

Are you participating in a regular diet of Bible Study? The Christian Education Ministry wants 1,000 servants in Bible Study. Participate in one of the new 4-week studies in April and May for the busy Christian who’s looking for a focused, interactive, and relevant Bible Study. Calling all Golfers

It’s that time of year again! The 2009 Annual Operation Feed Charity Golf Classic will be held on Thursday, May 7th at Wedgewood Golfers’ Club at 5206 Tournament Dr. in Olive Branch, MS. Lunch will be served from 11:00AM – 12:45PM, the range opens at 12:00PM and the Shotgun Start begins at 1:00PM. This year the sign-up form is web based. Click here for additional information and to sign up. Come join us for a fun day of golf, good food and great prizes. The children will thank you.

BLESSING BOXES

Blessing Boxes is a national project involving Disciple Women who collect change to support missions stateside and overseas. We are asking the women of THE BLVD to support this effort by saving loose change to fill up the Blessing Boxes, which can be picked up from MJ Cooper on Sundays after worship in the CIC or Monday through Wednesday at the Security Desk after 5:30PM. The deadline for all donated monies, which will be collected by MJ Cooper, is Sunday, May 3rd.

NAMED SCHOLARSHIP DONORS

GREETERS MEETING

The MBCC Greeters will meet on Saturday, April 25th at 12:00PM in Room 07A.

GREETERS MINISTRY ATLANTA TRIP

The MBCC Greeters Ministry is sponsoring a trip to the Atlanta Aquarium on June 27 – 28. Anyone interested in making this trip with the Greeters should contact Charlesetta Gipson with TRAVEL EAZE or Elfreda Bledsoe at 901.210.8381.

DAVE RAMSEY VIDEO TELECONFERENCE “TOWN HALL FOR HOPE”

Tired of hearing the fear, doom and gloom that’s filling the airwaves about the economy? Are you unclear about where the economy is heading and what you need to be doing right now? Then the “Town Hall for Hope” video teleconference is for you. The Town Hall for Hope is a FREE nationwide video teleconference conducted by Dave Ramsey, TV host of the Dave Ramsey Show and best selling author of “The Total Money Makeover.” This conference will be held at THE BLVD on Thursday, April 23rd at 7:00PM. The conference will also be seen via telecast by thousands of people in locations throughout the country. Dave Ramsey will share with the audience information about the financial crisis, current economic conditions, your money matters, what you can do now to begin to rekindle your hope and security and share with us how we can stand together to re-ignite the fire of hope which is in Christ our Lord. MBCC MEN’S GOLF ASSOCIATON

The MBCC Men’s Golf Association presents its Spring Tournament on Saturday, May 2nd at Fox Meadows Golf Course, 3064 Clark Road. Shotgun Start is at 8:30am (Four Men, Best Ball). The cost is $50 per person, which includes fees, food and prizes. You may sign up in the bookstore lobby following today’s worship. The deadline for sign-up is Sunday, April 26th. MEN’S MINISTRY COOK-OFF RESCHEDULED

The Men’s Ministry Cook-Off has been rescheduled for Sunday, April 26th immediately following the morning worship service in the Fellowship Hall. The cost is $5 per person or $20 for a family of four or more persons. Funds from the cook-off will be used to support the Men’s Ministry Angel Tree program. Angel Tree provides gifts to 100+ children whose parents are incarcerated. Come join us for excellent food and fellowship.

 

MEN OF POWER AND PROMISE

The Men of Power and Promise will rehearse on Monday, April 27th and Monday, May 4th in preparation for Mother’s Day. Both rehearsals will convene at 6:30PM in the Adult Choir Room. For additional information, contact the Music Ministry at 901.272.5614.

It is still critical that you load your Kroger/Schnucks’ card in order to benefit our children’s/youth renovation project. If you have not loaded your card lately, please do so as soon as possible.
