MISSISSIPPI BOULEVARD CHRISTIAN CHURCH

Dear Church Servant:

On Sunday, January 18th, I will continue my new sermon series called “CHANGE – WE CAN BELIEVE IN” and I am asking everyone to wear your Obama shirt, T-shirt, button, sticker, etc. to our 10:00AM worship service as we pray for and celebrate our next President. Make it easy on yourself and come discover how God will help you make needed CHANGES in your life in 2009. Click here for more information about our upcoming sermon and Bible study series

On Monday January 19th, we will be commemorating the life of one of the greatest servants who has ever lived, Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. King told us that “…we, as a people, will get to the promised land!” Well, we have not gotten there yet, but I know that Dr. King and a host of saints in Heaven will be smiling, shouting and praising God on Tuesday for the progress America has made.

Tuesday, January 20th, is the day of our Historical Inauguration, as Barack Obama is sworn in as the 44th President of United States of America. I am not going to the inauguration of President Elect Barack Obama. Early on, I decided that it would be too many people and I wanted to share the moment at home with my remote. I know that many people are going and I am excited for everyone who is going. My preference is to observe the event quietly and prayerfully. I know that he is going to have a major job on his hands. I want to surround him and bathe him in prayer. I may do that on Sunday morning – by asking the church to pray and surround him with prayer. And if you are going, take plenty of pictures and have a great time. And if you talk to anyone at the events and Inaugural Balls, tell them, “I represent my pastor, the Rev. Dr. Frank Anthony Thomas of Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church in Memphis, TN” (smile). You are my ambassadors and my representatives (ha-ha). Have a great time and we pray traveling mercies for you. God has blessed us with an African-American President and family and we are and will be forever grateful to God for this experience. Let the church say thank you Lord. H-A-L-L-E-L-U-J-A-H!

CHURCH-WIDE BIBLE STUDY

We have had great attendance for our Church Wide Bible Study classes on Sunday and Wednesday. We will continue to meet every Sunday at 8:30AM in the Fellowship Hall and Wednesday at 7:00PM in the Sanctuary throughout the month of January. It’s extreme - It’s intense - It’s going to be life changing, that’s why we’re calling it EXTREME MAKEOVER! If you have attended these classes, blog me and share your experience; I want to hear from you and your comments may encourage others to come out and participate in this experience.

It’s Praying Time,

Pastor Frank
