MISSISSIPPI BOULEVARD CHRISTIAN CHURCH |

Dear Fellow
Servants:
Joyce and I just arrived back home
this morning from visiting South Africa with friends. I have been going to
South Africa for over twelve years and I have built many
wonderful relationships.
Three days last week, I was with Pastor Peter Barnes in
Idutywa, South Africa. I preached there on
Wednesday night, and on Thursday night I spoke to leaders from
many churches. The Lord moved by the
Spirit; they were blessed and I was blessed. It is amazing to
me how much more alike we are than we are different. A great time was had by
all.
I left Idutywa and went to
Johannesburg to spend time with Pastors Carl and Joan
Hendricks. I
drove three hours to preach in a village in a section of South
Africa called Polokwane. It was a tremendous
experience for me. The pastor called a
Saturday afternoon service at 1:00PM and it was standing room
only. When I asked them to raise their Bibles if they brought
them, ninety percent of the room had their Bibles. I preached from Luke
14 – “Go into the highways and byways and compel them to
come.” I have
learned to go where God sends me and not be fooled by the
external circumstances and what I might think. It is not the
material circumstances; it is what is in the hearts of the
people. I was
especially blessed by the Youth Choir. On Sunday, August
9th, I preached at Pastor Desmond Peterson’s
church. Two weeks
ago, I preached at the General Assembly meeting of the
Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and last week at a
village in Africa. God has been really
good.
I heard that Rev. Reginald Bell, Jr.,
really blessed everyone last Sunday with his sermon “Deal or
No Deal”. Thank
you for your prayers, faithfulness to God and THE BLVD family
while I was out of the country. I am so excited about
seeing you all on Sunday morning.
