MISSISSIPPI BOULEVARD CHRISTIAN CHURCH

Dear Fellow Servant,

This past Sunday was, as every Sunday is, a blessing to be in the house of the Lord. Believe it or not, we spent time talking about fishing. Of course the eNews is not a “blow-by-blow” recap of Sunday but there were parts of the Message that I am compelled to share with you in this forum because it has so much to do with our purpose as Christians. Radical Evangelism or Contemporary Evangelism today is the new way of “fishing” for Christ. We are a week away from one of our largest fishing expeditions at THE BLVD. This expedition is also known as Umoja. Yes, it’s a production with great acting, elaborate costumes and phenomenal music but underneath all of that is opportunity for evangelism because when you do your part to get them here, we have a wonderful team of volunteers who are ready to love on them until they are compelled to give their lives to Christ. Even if you have offered the opportunity before, I am asking you to go again.  Sunday, Minister Hunter, who is an avid fisherman came and gave us several tips on actual fishing that you can apply to radical fishing as well. Go where the fish are biting. Have the right bait. Be patient. He said the bait was the word of God. I believe the right bait is also your testimony. If you go with what God has done for you, and you tell it as you invite them to come, I believe they will come. God wants His house to be full. Your role is to Go Fishing!

This Sunday I am inviting everyone to wear your Umoja T-shirts, caps, and other gear to show our UNITY. Some people have been holding on to shirts from way back. I’m not mad at you because I believe in allowing items to live out their purpose! But, if your black shirt has seen better days or your white one has “battle” scars and you want a new one, we have all kinds of Umoja gear in the bookstore at Midtown. We also have special hours of operation for the bookstore through April 22. Store hours are from 10:00am – 6:00pm on Thursdays, 10:00am – 5:00pm on Fridays and 9:00am – 3:30pm on Saturdays. Of course you can purchase tickets all week between 9:00am and 8:30pm at THE BLVD Midtown. Sunday, we continue our Go Fish movement with a message called Launch Out Into the Deep. We’ll also have special guests including one of the “Three Mo’ Divas” and more of the dance and drama performances on our Journey to Umoja.

I keep referencing Sunday’s sermon and I know our internet provider had some technical issues Sunday in Memphis that affected our Live Stream. Our sister churches reported the same. If you were viewing online and you were disconnected you can view the worship service online. The online option will be available Saturday, April 17, 2010. You can view it by clicking here. Now if you were here Sunday and you just want to hear it again, please consider purchasing a CD or DVD.

Don’t forget to tune in weekly to our 15 Minutes of Faith program on 95.7 Hallelujah FM at 6:00pm. If you miss it, you can hear the replay weekly. Post on your Facebook page that 15 Minutes of Faith is on the air at 6:00pm. Use the program as a way to GO Fishing with the inter“net”! Get it? And finally, please become a partner with us via our Facebook Fanpage where we update regularly with the great things happening at THE BLVD. Our goal is to have 1000 fans by August. Hopefully you will be counted in that number.

See you Sunday! And Bring Somebody With You To Church.
