Dear
Fellow Servant:
Are
you moving with us
into 2012? Did you pray and fast on Wednesday
from 6:00AM to 6:00PM? I am excited about us
moving to the next level as a congregation. When
we pray as THE BLVD family, we will see the hand
of God in the life of our ministries, our
worship and our personal lives. So if you have
not started, think about moving with us and “Look
Again” at life’s situations through the
channels of prayer and fasting. Remember, we
will meet again next Wednesday at 6:00PM in the
Chapel to see what
God reveals to us. Click
here to read the information on our 2012
“Next
Level Corporate Fast”
program.
Additionally,
our prayer and fasting will also help us to
continue our move from mediocrity
to greatness
for God. In 2012 let us remember to improve
our serve, encourage and uplift one another, and
also to be gentle to each other. Think of all
the wrong that you do and how it hurts God, but
we still receive gentle care from
Him.
In
sharing results of our Fast, I received the
following testimony this week that I just had to
share with you:
“The
sermon blessed me so much!!! Yes, I fasted today
(we had a business lunch), I prayed before
lunchtime asking God to help me with my fast. I
drank water & tea and kept on talking and
listening like nothing was going on. This
morning, on the way to work, I kept listening to
the book Philippians, especially chapter
4:6&7. When I got to work, I talked to a
young lady about positive attitude and allowing
the God in her to shine forth. I tell you, after
that talk I got to my office (didn't even close
the door) and just went into praise deep in my
soul!!! OMG!!! What a time. Then, I went to Walk
Away the Pounds in the Family Life Center at
6pm. The instructor asked any who fast to at
least eat a piece of fruit. Pastor, when I ate
that banana, it was SO good to my soul!!! LOL,
thank you for calling this fast for us to Look,
Pray & Fast, and LOOK
again!!!!!”
Our
Midweek worship service resumes next Wednesday,
January 18, at 7:00PM. You really don’t want to
miss my new Midweek Sermon Series “Is God
Pleased with My Sex Life?” Some of the
topics will be: Why do single people have to
wait to have sex? How do I control my appetite
for sex after divorce? Is it okay for me to
masturbate? Can I be Christian and gay? Make
sure you are in the house for answers to these
and other questions. I am looking for you to
attend, and invite others to attend this special
sermon series for ADULTS
ONLY in person or via live
streaming.
Even
though your children cannot join us in the
Sanctuary on Wednesdays, during this sermon
series, don’t leave them at home. Bring your
children with you so they can participate in FLAVA
and Kidz
Klub. They will be in a wholesome atmosphere
learning how to live in a world that presents so
many choices to them. FLAVA is
for grades 7 through 12 and Kidz Klub
is for grades 1 through 6. Their curriculum
is a high energy bible study that builds
character and teaches life skills. Let’s prepare
our children so that they can stand on the Word
of God when life’s challenges confront
them.
On
Monday, January 16, the offices will be
closed and all activities are cancelled in
observance of Martin L. King, Jr. Holiday.
Offices will re-open on Tuesday, January
17.
What
apps did you download this week and share with
others? This Sunday, we will continue our “iHope”
sermon series. This
week’s sermon topic will be “Words with
Friends.” Don’t miss this Sunday as we
download another application on the one true “Hope”, Jesus
Christ.
Have
a safe and blessed weekend,
