MISSISSIPPI BOULEVARD CHRISTIAN CHURCH |
| |
|
Dear Fellow Servant:
I will continue my sermon series “The Advent
Conspiracy” this Sunday. I know we are having our annual
Christmas Concert on Sunday, but I am looking for you at
church on Sunday morning at 10:00AM. My goal is to give the
benediction at 11:30AM, so that you will be able to go home
and relax before the concert. See you
Sunday.
CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS
PROGRAM
On Sunday, December 7th,
our Nursery children had an awesome Children’s Christmas
Program in the Fellowship Hall. Thank you parents, volunteers,
staff and Ms. Annette Bowen for doing such a wonderful job
developing, leading and loving our children. Click here to view the program
photos.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT
WORSHIP
On Wednesday, December
10th, I shared the six stages of grief with many of
our church family members who lost love ones during our annual
Grief and Healing Worship Service. This special worship
service was our last
Wednesday Night Worship service in calendar 2008. During
the next three weeks, I encourage you to spend quality time
with family and friends. Please join me for our New Year’s
Church-Wide Adult Bible Study series “EXTREME
MAKEOVER”,
beginning Sundays, January
4th through 28th
at 8:30AM and
each Wednesday at 7:00PM in 2009. Our New Year’s
Church-Wide Bible Adults Study will
transform you from the inside out. It’s extreme. It’s intense.
It’s going to be life changing. That’s why we’re
calling it EXTREME MAKEOVER! I, along with Pastor Janae
Pitts, will be leading our entire church through the book,
“Pursuing Spiritual Transformation: The life-giving power
of community.” I want to see you there every Sunday
AND Wednesday. We’re teaching a new topic each
day. Go to our Bookstore and purchase your copy of
the book on Sunday and Wednesday for $8.00. Click here to view book
summary.
I will be looking for you in January 2009; you’ll never be the
same!
CHRISTMAS CONCERT –
“GREAT JOY”
As predicted, our
annual Christmas Concert is a sell-out. Thank
you for your support. We have received many calls for tickets,
but we do not have any ticket left to sell. I am still looking
forward to hearing “What do you do when you’ve
done all you can…STAND”, I have personally put in my
special song request.
Remember, our doors will open at 3:00PM on Sunday; it’s
will be a full house. Click here to view more
information.
SICKLE CELL DISEASE
SUPPORT – “SILENT AUCTION”
A silent auction is underway for a
Serigraph titled “And Together We
Rise” donated by famous artist Ephraim Urevbu, Art
Village Gallery in support of our Sickle Cell foundations
painting). The original “Limited Edition
Glicee” used in the auction was removed by the artist
and replaced with this current art piece. Please come by our
Montgomery lobby to view this beautiful piece of artwork and
make your bid. The bid sheet is located at our Security
Reception desk. Bidding began November 23, 2008 and will end
December 14, 2008 at 5:00PM. All proceeds will be donated to
the Sickle Cell foundations.

NURSERY
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The MBCC Nursery is in critical need of
volunteers to serve during Sunday morning worship service.
Without an adequate volunteer base we will not be able to
provide quality service for our children; subsequently we may
have to turn children away. For additional information,

A SPECIAL
NOTE FROM PASTOR BELL
I don’t know what I would do
without my church family. You have walked with me through
major transitions in my life and now celebrating with me my
Fiftieth Birthday year and twentieth year of ordained
ministry. Your gifts, well wishes, love and support makes it
all worth it and fans the flame of my gifts to encourage me to
grow even deeper in service for our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ. I was given this birthday scripture that you have made
come to life, “Call unto me and I will answer you and tell you
great and unsearchable things you do not know” (Jeremiah
33:3). From the bottom of my heart to the depths of my soul, I
say “THANK YOU”.

SISTERS IN
MOTION
A number of MBCC women are members of an excellent
fitness care group called Sisters in Motion (SIM) lead by
Linda Sessoms. SIM members train, pray and fellowship together
to run/walk in local and national races. On Saturday, December
6th, SIM members completed the St.
Jude 5K (3.1 miles), half marathon (13.1 miles) and full
marathon (26.2 miles) along with 14 thousand other
runners/walkers from around the nation. They also helped
raised $1.8 million dollars for St. Jude (Children’sResearch
Hospital). Congratulations
ladies and keep on running/walking. Click here to view
photos.

KROGER/SCHNUCKS’ CARD: CHILDREN & YOUTH’S
FUNDRAISER
Thanks
to everyone who signed up to raise funds for our Youth
and Children’s ministries through the Kroger’s and
Schnucks’ programs. We are still trying to reach our
goal; therefore, I am asking you to please load your
cards before you shop so that we will receive five (5%)
percent of your total grocery bill. I know it takes a
few minutes to load your card, but please consider the
investment in our children and youth. If you have lost
your card or never had one, come by the Kroger/Schnucks’
table located near the bookstore to get a new one. Your
help is needed to raise funds to support our children
and youth ministries. Stop by on
Sunday! |
